I was always taught to smile when having my picture taken but now it seems like nobody from our generation does anymore.

    What happened???

I used to grin widely until I got braces. Now I just clothed-mouth-smile most of the time. But I will grin again when they're taken off

I smile for some pictures, and make strange faces for some pictures. It all depends on my mood really. XD

Most people I know smile, except the ones who think they're too cool to smile for a group shot.

^ its always been that way though. I mean...look back at the old pictures of the 60's and before that. Even way back, civil war era pictures. no one smiled. but i think that was due to the duration it took to get a picture.

I smile, but without showing my teeth! Smiling with my teeth shown always ruins my face in pictures.

My face has craters from the carnage of the Accutane War, so I always look bad in pictures where the lighting isn't just so.

I don't take pictures of people, anyway. If a landscape is pretty, why plop someone in front of it? I don't understand why people have to get in the middle of every picture--I trust people have been the places they say, they don't need to prove it with an obstructed view of the Parthenon.

I always smile in pictures. With teeth. It bothers me when people have non teeth smiles.

I look shocking when I try to smile in photos. Mouth shut at least means I don't look quite as ugly.

  16. Me too. Plus I hate fake smiles and cameras (or should I say soul-stealing devil boxes?) aimed at me.

I tend to look mentally ill most of the time when I smile. I prefer not to unless its for school photos or something.

weird, for me, I prefer to see a pic of someone smiling, even better with teeth, to get a feel for that person instead of one where he is not.

I can't smile to save my life. So I try to avoid it in pictures.

I have dreadful teeth. And I've been teased - even, rather especially, by family - about this. My parents never could afford braces and when they finally could, medically I could not get anything done. So I just hide my teeth. It actually pisses me off when people tell me to relax about it. Deal with my family, then say something.
