Hey, I've managed to find myself a boyfriend! He's the best friend of Dorothy, nice, and cute as well! So, if anyone has some advice or congratulations, please give them here!

    Awesome.

Always wondered - if you celebrate Christmas/birthdays/etc. do you give them a present only going out for a short amount of time [say 7 days]?

Good for you. I don't have much advice outside of be honest, keep an open mind, and go into it partially blind - meaning that you shouldn't expect him or yourself not to make mistakes and have disagreements. Be resilient and ready to fight the good fight for your relationship.

I have no clue. Your alone on this one buddy. I've never had a boyfriend before.

What I can tell you is that, according to my parents, honesty and communication are key to a relationship. Best of luck and congrts!

I think the big thing is communicating openly and being honest with each other. You also want to trust your instincts. If you don't feel like things are working out or you get a weird feeling about the relationship, that's a feeling worth considering and 99% of the time, those feelings are correct. Be respectful of their family and your partner should be doing the same. And make sure your relationship is equal and mutual. Never feel like you're the only one supporting the relationship or the only one who cares. And make sure there's trust between the two of you.

In other news, I need to follow my own advice.
