So, I'm thinking of growing my hair longer. Any advice?

Take care of them carefully. And avoid anxiety, makes you lose your hair.
I had to cut mine for this very reason.

I am trying to cut down on my anxiety.
I am getting a lot better, and intend to start meditation and exercise on a regular basis

If it's like chest length or longer, do NOT wear it out in pools or the sea or anything like that. You will spend an hour in the shower with a ridiculous amount of conditioner ripping the knots apart. Personal experience. Don't do it.

Oh yeah, and you'll want to buy something to tie your hair. You don't want them to get in your eyes.

Cut your split ends, this will maintain the health of your hair. Split ends tend to make your hair dull and lifeless. No amount of time money and efforts spent on hair masks, treatments and spas will do any good to your hair. It will continue to look dull. Split ends look dry, brittle and ugly spoiling the beauty of your hair. Anyone can notice that your hair has become more healthy and shiny once you trim your split ends! So without even spending a lot for your hair care routine, you can get healthy looking, beautiful hair within minutes.

Always, always use conditioner. Don't shampoo your head every day or you'll end up with a lot of frizz. I've been growing my out back since 2010 so I know a thing or a two.

That makes sense. I have a pretty severe anxiety and my hair has become much thinner during the worst period.

Things also depend on how fast your hair grows.
