I think... it's hard to believe it's already 2016. 2007 sounds like it was at most five years ago to me.
I think... it will be the year I come out to my family, which is pretty big for me because I thought I would never do it.
I think... it is one year closer to the real world, which is quite scary.
I think... it is the year I finally get some confidence and hopefully (possibly?) find a boyfriend.
I think... it is the year I finally overcome acne, which is something that has drastically affected my confidence.

When you think of 2016, what do you think?

A better year than 2015. A year that will probably be the best since... huh. Never had a great year. Only great summers.

But I just got used to it being 2015... A few months ago I literally had to look up the year (I thought it was still 2014). Ah well.

2006 is a decade ago.. no, seriously. Where does the time go? That's 10 years since I started secondary school.. and 5 years since I left. That's 10 years since the first PS3. That's 9 years since the first iPhone. There's probably a load more.

It's also 6 years since my grandfather died.

Not much. I think it's just another year I'll have to go through. I do look forward to 2017, though. That's when real change will happen for me.

My grandfather passed away in 2006 and I can not believe it has already been a decade since he passed!

However I have big plans for 2016 and I have some big goals as well. I wanna get a bf, I want to go to college, and I want to get a job and I plan to reach all those goals by the end of the year!

University, adulthood, the first election I'll be able to vote in and the unrealistic hope that I'll grow to 5'9".

I think uncertainty. Which isn't to say I'm pessimistic. I just don't have a clue what's gonna happen to me next year. I may be at grad school, or I may be at home. I may be getting a novel published, or I may be getting rejected over and over. I may begin transitioning, or I may have to keep waiting.

But I can only hope for the best.

I think it will be a new year with big changes for me.
I think it will be a bit intimidating and unusual living out on my own.
I think (and hope) it will be a year of new found love.
I think it will be a turning point in my life as I move out and live on my own.

I think it has to be a better year for me. 2015 was really shit and boring so in 2016 I know I have to change because you're only young once, as they say.

This time next year I have to be in a different position.

When I think of 2016 I think of coming out and I'm really scared to do that as I'm not sure who I should come out to or when I should do it.
