Hello, What causes sexuality? Is different sexuality caused by different things? And if so, what? Just interested into why humans are the way we are.
No one knows for sure. There are lots of theories. And maybe it is not always exactly the same factors in everyone's case - but prenatal factors seem to have something, at the very least, to do with it. The important thing is people are the way they are. It is not a choice, and no one can have their sexuality changed (though it can be fluid, and sometimes takes a while to settle down).
Humans are animals, and animals do reproduce sexually, at least some of them. So at the end it's all about spreading your genes to the next generation. What is E4 by the way? (not that I'm interested)

Nobody really knows what causes ones sexuality. I'm not particularly sure I want someone to find out either. There are however a ton of different theories out there that include: genetics, epigenetics, maternal hormones, parental histones, environmental factors, etc. The only thing that researchers seem to really agree on is the fact that sexuality is more than likely determined within the first few months of birth at the latest.
Well, I know that homosexuality works in a similar way as left handedness. In an MRI scan, they have found that LGBT people have brains similar to that of the opposite sex. When I say that, gay men use brains that the opposite sex uses and trans people have brains that look pretty much just like the opposite sex. The same way the left side of your brain controls your right side of the body and vise versa, your brain can either be geared towards being more male or female (or somewhere in between). There is also being ambisinister, where you're 'clumsy' with both hands. This is like being asexual in a sense. They have also found that people are attracted to the pheromones in urine of that of the sex that they are attracted to. This is pretty conclusive as well. You can take male urine from some random stranger and gay men or straight women will be able to identify whether or not it's more pleasant than female urine. You don't have to know the sex of the urine that you identify. It's an innate instinct that it part of how your brain works. For me, I can immediately tell which urine is female because it's more repulsive in scent (SCIENCE!). Also, I wish people stop saying it's genetic because it's really not entirely genetics. Every straight women is capable of giving birth to an LGBT person. Cool fact though: A rule that only applies to right-handed males. The more right-handed older brothers a man has, the more likely chance he has of being gay. Sisters and left-handed people are not counted in this rule.
In my personal experiences (and in some research I've done), hormones and certain minerals (copper and zinc). For example, when I eat high copper and typically estrogenic foods, my same-sex inclinations go through the roof!!! I can decrease those desires by decreasing the amount of copper I get or by balancing hormones.
