I don't think belief is black and white. It's possible to not know if you believe in something. Some people think it means you're confused. I think it's a valid position. I run into this a lot with atheists. A lot of them believe that you either believe in god or you don't. I don't believe that. I believe there's an in between space.
I don't know if any kind of god exists, and I'm totally cool with that. Militant atheists tend to be just as close-minded as many religious people I've met.

No, I think there is a grey area. I'm in it. I don't believe at the moment, but I am open to the idea of believing and perhaps one day, something will make me believe again.
To me, life is all the different shades of grey possible. Some are leaning towards the darker shades that are almost similar to black and some lighter. Belief in what exactly? If it's about religion then belief in itself is definitely not black and white since the empirical evidence required to prove or disprove the existence of a being/beings have not yet been discovered.
