    Somebody sent me this link, and I found it very curious: At one of the most elite all-boys schools in Tokyo, they have a contest to see who can be the prettiest girl. I'm thinking that the tradition may go back to certain eras of Japanese theater, where boys often played girls, though this was an interesting read.
