Transgender is someone who feels they were born in the body of the wrong gender - male brain in a female body or female brain in a male body. Intersex is someone who is 'in between' physically - an intersex person is born with both male and female parts.

I don't know many of the datails, but as far as I know intersex people don't usually have both a fully developed penis and vagina, there's a lot in between - they can have what seems to be a combination of both, but neither is fully developed. Try the Wikipedia article if you're curious.
