I am a huge fan of Tegan and Sara (even though technically they aren't lesbians), Jill Souble, and Ani DiFranco.

Tegan and Sara are definitely lesbians.
Duran Duran
Ani Difranco
P!nk
The Cliks
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts (She's at least bi, and her latest album Sinner is like a huge coming out if you think about it.)
Amanda Palmer (The Dresden Dolls)
The Indigo Girls
Kaki King (if you like guitar playing, you should TOTALLY listen to her, she 's amazing)
Missy Higgins
t.A.T.u. (Yulia and Lena aren't really lesbians, but they're music is gay themed)
Elton John
That's just to name what I can think of...

Well the Dixie Chicks aren't a LGBT band of anything but does anyone else think these lyrics sound like they could be - I love this song.

Quote:
Times are hard and rents are high
What can a working girl do
But struggle through another day
Then Ill take care of you

Nights are long and dreams are cold
If theyre all you wake up to
But should you rise with crying eyes
Ill take care of you

Chorus:
So let them talk about us
Let them call us funny things
People sometimes do
I dont care as long
As you know I love you
Oh, and you know I do

Ill be there, but you might not see me
Its never easy to get through
But when the laughter dies away
Ill take care of you

Repeat chorus

Ill be there, but you might not see me
Its never easy to get through
But when the laughter dies away
Then Ill take care of you

Darling, Ill take care of you

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Queen! Even though the rest of the guys are straight, Freddie Mercury was as gay as a daffodil.

Actually, nobody in Duran Duran is gay. Although I love their stuff.

As far as great gay songs, I don't think anything will ever top this. Remember - this is 1977. Tom Robinson isn't singing about history. He's singing about what's happening to him, and his friends, on a daily basis. And at the start of his career, when he had everything to lose by announcing his homosexuality at a time when virtually no famous person would ever think of doing so, he went on TV and sang this.

The British Police are the best in the world
I don't believe one of these stories I've heard
'Bout them raiding our pubs for no reason at all
Lining the customers up by the wall
Picking out people and knocking them down
Resisting arrest as they're kicked on the ground
Searching their houses and calling them queer
I don't believe that sort of thing happens here

Sing if you're glad to be gay
Sing if you're happy that way

Pictures of naked young women are fun
In Titbits and Playboy, page three of The Sun
There's no nudes in Gay News our last magazine
But they still find excuses to call it obscene
Read how disgusting we are in the press
The News of The World and the Sunday Express
Molesters of children, corruptors of youth
It's there in the paper, it must be the truth

Sing if you're glad to be gay
Sing if you're happy that way

Don't try to kid us that if you're discreet
You're perfectly safe as you walk down the street
You don't have to mince or make bitchy remarks
To get beaten unconscious and left in the dark
I had a friend who was gentle and short
Got lonely one evening and went for a walk
Queerbashers caught him and kicked in his teeth
He was only hospitalised for a week

Sing if you're glad to be gay
Sing if you're happy that way

So sit back and watch as they close all our clubs
Arrest us for meeting and raid all our pubs
Make sure your boyfriend's at least 21
So only your friends and your brothers get done
Lie to your workmates, lie to your folks
Put down the queens and tell anti-queer jokes
Gay Lib's ridiculous, join their laughter
'The buggers are legal now, what more are they after?'

Sing if you're glad to be gay
Sing if you're happy that way
