I was curious how many days that due to snow or ice, you've had the day off school, college or work.

We're closed at the University tomorrow, so that makes 5 this winter so far...not bad for Maryland. Plus, I still get paid the same, just to be at home, doing whatever I want.

And even the students there don't have to make them up.

    How 'bout everyone else?

Non. Because I work security and am classified as "Emergency Personnel."

So, even though we had 10 inches of snow, and it was -32F, I got to trudge to work at midnight.

And then spend an hour the next morning stuck in a snow bank.

None at my school. I've trudged there in thick slippery ice and hail, and twisted my ankle, but in my whole life none of the schools I've been to have had a snow day.

    The worst possible scenario.

It is created by the devil to punish those of us who live too far north.

It is the worst idea ever conceived.

It sucks the joy from the world, and makes everything a blustery, frozen Hellscape.

If I could, I would travel to some magical land where "snow" isn't a word. They don't have it. They've never heard of it. If I could live in a world where snow never existed, even for a year, my life would be complete and I could die happy.

    Avoid at all costs.

Lol school closed in southern California for a snow day. That will never happen unless you live in our mountains. It's only snowed twice in the past ten years in my city and I believe only one of them was a day off from school, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, snow in Southern California is too rare for it ever cause any consistent problems. Any time I want to go to the snow though I head up to Big Bear.

It's very difficult to have a "snow day" in Montana. In 15 years here I've only had one day off due to weather, and that was for a -80F/-62C windchill day. Any amount of snow by itself does not equate to a day off.

I've only seen a decent amount of snow once in my life, and that was on a trip. The rest of my family was indoors 24/7, while I actually stayed outside the majority of the day. I sort of hate being outdoors here because of heat and insects, so I only go out in the coldest winter months. It's never cold enough for me here. Heck, even on the mountain peaks it's just never cold enough here. We need more sky dandruff, dammit!

I live in Hong Kong, where humidity and tropical weather reigns supreme.
    So...none.

Officially, a big fat zero. Unofficially: one. I encountered whiteout conditions and turned around halfway through my commute.

The last 'snow day' I remember having was about 5 years ago when I was still in high school. It snowed really heavily all day and we got sent home early. That was the first and last time I saw true chaos because of snow. It was certainly a sight to behold for a usually snow-free island.

I think we had the following day off too but then we were back 2 days later. The snow lasted for the rest of the month before melting after Christmas.

No snow days off while I've been working.. that would really take something exceptional.
