Good lord, I... I don't even know what to say. I can't even imagine the level of suffering this family has been through.
That looks to me like Gangrene, which is tissue death caused by a lack of blood supply. Unfortunately amputation is a fairly common result, and since it's not a communicable disease, if blood flow isn't improved to the area, the stump can succumb to Gangrene as well. Poor guy.
Holy handguns. That's horrible >_> I want to know the name of the drain cleaner, even although now I'm wondering if a lot of drain cleaners can do something similar, then we need to be extra careful with them
Well...shit. Unlike AwesomGaythiest, I don't think it's gangrene? Gangrene causes tissue to die, instead of...dissolve. Due to the tissues dying (decomposing is a better term) they turn black and have a rotting smell, if I'm correct. Instead, it actually reminds me of a toxic burn...well, somewhat. The way it eats away at his hand (after careful examination of the pictures, his flesh is slowly being eaten away, exposing the muscle and even a bit of bone) does seem similar to how toxic eats away at flesh. On the other hand, I'm not familiar with toxic, and I'm not a medical student, either. Just a conjecture. But somehow, I'm wondering...have they tested for parasites? It seems to stay only at his arm, even after amputation. Since parasites are very low-key and hard to spot without thorough testing, they do tend to get very far before their spotted or realized. :/
