This summer I'm coming to Brighton and I'm staying there for a month. (!)

Since I'm arriving in August - I've heard about the Pride that is going to be during the first weekend of the month - I'd like to enjoy it!

Have you ever been / Are you going there this year?

I used to live 20 minutes from there but never attended. Lots of people, lots of booze and lots of noise is not my scene.
My brother actually lives there and has attended a few times himself (even though he is heterosexual).

Where in Italy are you from? My mum is from Milan. I visit San Zeno every summer and Milan every winter as my grandma, uncle and auntie live there.

    Hope you have fun

I would've shown you around a bit but unfortunately I dont live near there any more :eusa_doh:

Are you going alone? Is it your first time in England?

I'm not 100% fluent at Italian but yes I do speak it at a pretty advanced level. My grandma doesnt speak any English so I speak to her in Italian all the time. I can write in Italian also.

    It'd have been great :frowning2:

Yes, I'm going alone and I'm a little bit worried about it. ^^'' I'm staying with a family and during the morning I'm attending english lessons.

That's great! I wish I had foreigner relatives too

    Yeah, sorry :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
I'd've probably just ruined your stay anyway as I am a grumpy loser at the best of times

My mother did a similair thing. She came to England when she was 18 and stayed with a family  I'm sure your host family will be great
Your English seem very good already so you dont have to worry about that anyway

Brighton is very cool and it is very easy to get to London from there too - It only takes about 1 and a half hours and is only one train. So maybe once you have made some friends it would be a good idea to go there for a day

I've been to Brighton pride before! I went last year with my friends, and it's brilliant. Lots of people and music and it's got a great vibe. I'd be going this year but (ironically) I'm in Italy visiting family (snap, another person who is half Italian). I wouldn't worry, people are really friendly and there are always loads of Italian tourists

    Are you kidding me? LOL

    It's not fair!!

I'll want to avoid every single italian, though  I have to improve my english!

Of course I would! I'd be great! I'm very curious to visit London.

Thank you ^^ It's very kind of you. I have to improve especially the speaking and on the pronunciation. I don't have the classical italian accent, but I'll work on it anyway

I live just 15 minutes from Brighton yet haven't been there for at least four years.
    I don't really do crowds.

I went down to Shoreham two weeks ago.

I live just inland from Brighton very near Haywards Heath.

Never been to Brighton pride but I have been to Brighton a couple of times. A lot of quirky and different people. Loads of homeless people and druggies. Horrible pebble beach. Cockneys everywhere. Strange place.

It's also the only city in the UK to ever elect a Green Party MP or have a Green Party council.

I was going to go last year but didn't have anyone to go with, now I'm 18 I definitely want to go this year but I'm planning to go to transpride rather than the regular one, transpride is the 22nd-24th July.
