Walked home in the rain earlier, but I'm happy!

Me and my mate are gonna go to a Furry-Convention, Fur the 'More, down just south of DC, in Tyson's Corners, VA. Just booked the room for two nights, Fri and Sat, and I can't wait

Had fun last year, but went on Sat and Sunday, and by Sunday, things were pretty much over and winding down. This way, we'll see a lot more. And they have a pool, plus it's fun just to stay in a decent hotel, and get outta Dodge. It was like a giant, insane, non-stop slumber party. Hadn't had that much fun in ages.

What's nice is how easy it is to get to, and cheap: free Charm City Circulator bus to MARC train to DC Metro, then a few blocks walk to the hotel, cost of transportation: About $12 each way. Much less than airfare! And no bitchy security people. I decided after last time, I don't like flying, it seems a huge hassle. I guess you have to sometimes, but in an ideal world, I'd go by ocean vessel, train or even ox, if need be, to reach whatever remote places I'd like to see.

To quote Issac Dinnesen (Karen Blixen) on air travel:

“One does not travel by plane. One is merely sent, like a parcel.”

    ~

Then, we have Comic-Con here in the fall, and the gigantic anime con, Otakon in August, and Bronycon in July.

I definitely need more money! These are such fun things to see, and I love the people-watching, and also, getting to talk to people, dress up, and buy stuff.

I really, really, really want to go to Anthrocon one of these years. I also want to go to Fan Expo in Toronto again, that was pretty fun. I'd also like to go to Furnal Equinox too since it's closer to me. Honestly, I like going to random cons just for fanart and merchandise. The only thing I really do at cons is check out the vendor's area, I'm much too shy to just go up and talk to people.

I've wanted to go to a furry con for ages, when I'm better at art I'd love to set up and have my own booth. For now I'll wait until I'm not so broke, and when I'm not maybe plan a trip. One of my close friends actually got a suit not too long ago, I'm super jealous of her because that's something we've both wanted to do for ages. Maybe that's something I should do while I'm still in the US, I haven't done a lot of research on cons in Canada.

ALL THE CONS! Doesn't matter if it's something I like, though a lot are. I want to eventually go to Comic-con cosplaying Gamzee Makara. That'd be glorious. Although, the horns might make transportation an issue...

Went to Anime Central last year and plan to go again this year. Third biggest anime convention in North America and it's located in the Chicago area. Over 30,000 people! Super fun!

It's only about a 5 minute drive from where I live, so getting there is no problem for me at all.

Still trying to decide/get my cosplay. I might end up doing Greece from Hetalia, but I'm not sure.

    Three big ones.

    SDCC- Like that'll ever happen.

PAX East- Slightly more likely. I have a friend who goes almost every year.

RTX- This is the one. This I am going to make happen. Mark my words. Next year is the year.

I've always wanted to attend Comic Con and any sort of Anime/Manga or Comic convention. My sister thinks it's super dorky. I've always been fascinated with cosplaying characters. The idea of getting to act like a different person than your normal self is pretty cool. Maybe it goes all the way back to when I was a kid and loved to play dress-up..? I'm not a shy person at all but acting and taking on the role is the most interesting thing ever!!
