My drama asked this question today, and so I'm curious... What do you wish you still do/have/know?

My response was walks with my oldest sister. Sometimes, my hands would get cold so she'd hold my hand then put it her hoodie pocket, my hand would be warm and we were still holding hands.

I haven't seen her in about seven years. She was the sibling I was closest to.

Out of everything it would probably be petting my dog while he sits next to me. It'd always calmed me down even if he wasn't that fluffy and made me feel like the world was alright. My dog was the one being in my family that wouldn't judge me and always cheered me up.

Now he lives with my uncle which is miles away since the apartments didn't allow pets. I still get to visit, but it gets quite lonely when I'm by myself and there is no one to talk to.

I wish I could just go back to the mid 90's and stay there. Things were so much better then.

I miss my dog I had when I was little.

She would always law down and sit with me and she made me so happy.

We had to give her up and a friend took her and moved to California but she did come back to where we are for a little and when I saw Lucy again after all those years she was super fat like a balloon and it made me really sad :frowning2:

That reminds me how when we had 2 cats and a dog since the cats were brothers we pretended they were the same cat and let one outside at a time since there was a 2 pet rule. It was really tricky but that's over with.

Aw. *Hugs*. As someone with sisters, you have my heart, and I'm sorry for whatever reason it is that you haven't seen her.

    ---------

I miss car rides with my Papa. We'd drive to Costco late at night, scent of his Old Spice cologne in that small teal Toyota, sound of "Paper Roses" and Anne Murray on his scratched CD's. It would rain and I would always stare at the drops of water as the wind and the speed of the car pushed them away. Always looked like they were swimming toward something. Those car rides were the calmest moments of my childhood.

Amazing how quick time passes, and how you miss the little things you never thought you would.

    So much...

I miss reading a lot, which is partially my fault because I waste my time on stupid crap.

I miss writing too. I used to have this regular, well-thought-out schedule where I would write about a paragraph a day and still make progress on my book, but that's gone to hell as of late. Again, because I waste my time on stupid crap.

I miss playing my favorite game for two hours every night.
    Again, stupid crap.

I miss having school, believe it or not, because I like learning and feeling smart, but I'm behind again because guess what? Stupid crap.

One of the things I miss the most, though, is having my dad.
This is the one that's not all my fault.
    Yep, I miss my dad.
He's still here, but at the same time, he's not.
He was my second-best friend until a couple years ago.
He'd do anything for me. I loved the hell out of him, and I'd do anything for him, but then...
I developed a sense of independent thinking.
I didn't immediately snap to attention and do what he said just because he was my father, and he didn't like that.
Instead of following his every order like I was a soldier and he was my CO, I dared to ask why and present small challenges to things that were just bull.
I tried to take care of my rapidly sickening mother and make sure that he understood that him doing some things would hurt her and other things would help.

He thought that this meant that I didn't respect him or love him like I used to.
    It didn't.
    I just started thinking more.

Some things are me being stubborn, but a lot of it is that he doesn't like that I changed.
I'm not a wee baby anymore. I'm not going to always snap to attention for him.
He can't accept that, and because of that, we've grown apart.

I've gotten used to how things are. I've put up my shit shield to deflect his crap and keep it from hurting me. But I still really miss my dad.

I miss my years of undergrad. It was an excellent time and I really didn't appreciate it enough and I made some unfortunate decisions. I feel as though I could've taken better advantage of the time and wish I had done so. Even disregarding the regrets I have, it was the peak of fun for me. Now my friends and I all have jobs, we don't live together anymore, and things are more serious. There was a certain "carefree" aura to that time that I greatly miss.

    I miss college.

I miss going to class and learning new things. I miss never having to talk to my family unless I wanted to. I miss being self-sufficient. I miss my apartment. I miss my best friends. I miss being able to just walk to the grocery store anytime I need to. I miss going to hockey games. I just really miss that city.

I miss going to my next door neighbors house every day. I was so sad the day they moved away. I still dream about being with them, you know? I dream about those times usually once a week at least.

I miss having the time to read books I want to read, and having the time to read 2 or 3 books a week.

I miss having the imagination to draw and paint whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.

I miss when I didn't have to worry about whether I'll get beaten up and/or arrested for going on holiday somewhere that won't accept me.

I miss being with my mum, we'd be able to the states whenever she was off of work or do whatever. Though our relationship grew distant over time and she doesn't want anything to do with me anymore.

I miss going to university in London. It was such a wonderful time of growth and change with so much at your finger tips.
