For those of you who have been in France or in other countries in general, have you ever been shocked by the cultural differences ?

Yes, well I had culture shock when I arrived here in England, since I am from NZ. When I go to other countries not so much I just try and enjoy it.

You don't have to actually leave the country to get a culture shock. Sometimes its as simply as taking a kid from a school where most students are mindful of the teachers and there were only four or five fights a year. Now put that kid in a "poor" school where teachers can't teach because students are yelling across a room and some even walk in and out classroom as they please. Everyday a fight breaks out, drug searches are done monthly, people who got good grades were made fun of (good grades were praised by all at old school)
Yeah that is a culture shock all its own.
