    But it was not a big deal at all in native american cultures. From the "two spirits" in north american cultures to the community of "muxes" in Mexico.

    It's a lot of erasure tbh. It was the same thing they did to gay and lesbian history, just pretended it didn't exist long enough that everyone 'forgot' it had always been there. :/ That's why gender is so policed in western society too.
