6-Year-Old Has Sweet Reaction to Learning Dad is mtf Transgender

Kids really are great at times.

 

It is so adorable!

 

As awesome as that was the triggered me.

And then I read the YouTube comments.....

 

I thought it was pretty sweet

 

I usually hate kids but I like this one
Its nice seeing a point of view of a kid that mind isnt corrupted yet but the evil stuff in the world ... why would she care if her daddy is he or her, what she cares about is they both love each other!

That's a really nice story .

I just have a (set) of questions: when a trans person is a parent and comes out, do you go out of your way to sanitize the biology of the conception and redact everything from conversation? Is this male progenitor who society calls "father," now a "mother" to the child? Does the trans parent keep his birth name for family purposes and or still gets called "father" with a female name? Trans etiquette seems to be simpler if the person doesn't have children; name and pronoun changes and that's it; but once you have children, it seems it's harder to make biology as if it were gender: that child wasn't made from her mind, but by her gonads.

 

I am too young and not interested in having kids, but I think if I had kids as a trans person, I'd get them to call me "father" from the beginning, but explain to them that at the same time, I was born with a girly name and pronouns... Still, all trans people are different. :/ Some trans guys still go by "she" and some trans women by "he", but I think in the US, they're a minority. Most out trans people seem okay with explaining things, or at least that's my experience...

Are you saying that children should be taken off of single mothers because they don't have a father figure? That widows should have their children taken away and given to a heterosexual couple?
