Hi. I am super upset right now and I have a lot on my mind. I was just wondering if any of you have things that can help you feel better when you're upset. I usually just cry into a pillow, but doesn't really help:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:. I feel like I've just been whining about the same stuff for the past six months, and I really wanna feel better soon.

(*hug*) Those sort of days are the WORST. Here are some ways I try to shake the sads:

Music. Walks outside. Reading a favorite book for the twenty-eighth time. Writing. Hugs. Crying. Talking with someone I love. Time. Sleep. Painting my fingernails. Cooking.

Being outside is one of the main things that does it for me. I live in an area right near the forest. When I'm out in the pines and all I can hear is the wind and the birds, it really tends to put me in a much better place. Guess I have to be in an nice place physically to be in a nice place mentally.

Things that put me in a good mood:
Music: super Mario bros 2 overworld theme or any song from the Jazz age.
    Place: my room
Website: empty closets, or a random search of something I'm interested in knowing about.
    Apps: YouTube, deviant art
    Hobbies: conlanging, reading
When I'm angry: throwing a hard object against a wall, preferably something that won't break, I broke my waterbottle nearly 2 months, and that was great loss for me :frowning2:
When I'm bored: oh, you know what!

Sorry to hear you've been following down :frowning2: Here are some small things that help me feel better, I hope they can help you too.

    -Listening to music
-Watching favourite TV shows (comedy to make me laugh, or something super intense to make me forget about what's making me upset for a bit)
    -Marathoning films
    -Reading comics or novels
    -Napping
-Going out to windowshop or just walk around in the neighbourhood
    -Drawing
    -Doing someting creative
    -Writing
    -Playing a few games online
    -Funnily enough, sometimes
-Playing an instrument/doing something music related
-Chatting with a friend over the phone or online (though I get when you're upset you might not feel in the mood to this. Me neither. It really depends on what kind of upset I'm feeling)
-Taking my camera out and trying out my super amateur photography skills

    Good luck (*hug*)

I really don't cry much at all and I really wish I could. I feel like it would be a nice release. My anti-depressants work well for me, thankfully, but I do wish I could cry about more things.

So yeah I cheer myself up instead of releasing. Watching YouTube cheers me up. Or I'll light up a bowl with or without my brother.

Music or a book if it's just stress. Gardening, preferably some sort of digging, if mad. Planting a tree can let off a lot of steam.

Cheering up for me is going out dancing with my friends, having dinner parties with them as well and going bowling.

I try to learn something new, or do something productive. Especially the latter gets me the endorphin I need to get over the top. I draw, I write, I at least blog when I have something to express. Reading something I really enjoy helps, too.

    Sorry to hear that Plattyrex.

Life can be too much for all of us. The younger you are it seems more impossible odds look... this is why they say time heal everything. Actually it doesn't heal a sh*t, you just learn to live with it, gain experience and learn to look things from different angles.

Different things work for each of us. Music always been my rock thru hard times. Comics, books and video games also my way to escape reality. Sometimes even work helps. As it requires your full concentration, it is a good way to pass tight emotions.
