this might seem weird, but an over saturation of people playing popular instruments. Let me explain.

So for me, I am an avid guitarist and trombonist, however I still teach myself a few instruments. For me, I always get sidelined as a "guitarist" and it gets super annoying, as most people just suspect that "oh well because your a guitarist, you obviously know wonderwall and here comes the sun, and ofc you don't write your own stuff, hah obviously if you did youd be super pretentious".

Its annoying. and the worse thing is that there are so many casual players that still exclaim that they can do so much on guitar after just looking up one or two songs and playing them it puts people who do actually want to do stuff on the instrument just seem pretentious.

I hope that made sense... also that I didn't offend anyone, I mean you can play whatever instrument you want, but its just seems like a large amount of the community who plays guitar or piano exclaim how they can play some really really mainstream songs and due to that think they are Mozart or something amazing...

Aaand there's the Reddit answer.

Mine would be most occupations, really. Not enough job openings to make employers desperate.

    1. Getting a college degree. It used to really mean something, now it's just the basest requirement for almost anything. Pretty soon you're going to need a degree to work at McDonalds.
    2. Self-identifying as a "nerd". At one points nerds were a small subgroup with passionate interests in obscure and intellectual subjects. Now anyone who's read and enjoyed Harry Potter calls themselves a "nerd".

I completely agree with this. We have cultivated an economy where having a degree is the basis of nearly every job, even if a degree or a university education isn't needed for the job in question. The end result is incredibly expensive tuition fees and a generation of workers faced with crippling debt, and people who choose not to pursue a university education unfairly penalised.

The number of people going to university has risen dramatically over the past 45 years, but it's highly questionable whether people are better off because of it. I'm inclined to believe no.

Vaping. I don't know that people realize it doesn't make you look cool when you're standing in public sucking on a chrome box.

Beat me to it with both of these!

Also, holiday destinations: budget European holidays, Dubai, the islands in Thailand, Egypt. European ski destinations, too.

Designer clothes are getting a bit tacky, too. Not a day goes by that I don't see someone with a dead fox or raccoon on the hood of their coat.

Being "anti-mainstream". I often get the feeling that it's mainstream to hate the mainstream.

Hipster-ism. It seems people are just trying too hard to be alternative and into their own obscure thing. Basically how HerrinDesFeuers said "being anti-mainstream."

Driving: Aka, traffic. All the scrambling and crowdedness are danger posed by others are a big "nope" in my book. Magnet trains as an alternative would be nice.

This!!!Especially that second one! ( YAAAAAAASSSSSS LIBERTINO!!!!)

And also, hashtags campaigns. At first they were inspirational and actually meant something that people cared about, and wanted to make an * actual * changed in the world or stand for a cause, but now... They're just vapid and stupid and usually quite humorous. Examples: #triggered #checkyourpriviledge ( really people? You should know better than this!)

Oh and prank videos, they've been ruined too. I'll leave it at that.
