Here it's really cold. My hands are freezing as I type (I don't have heating in my bedroom), so the temperature is 45 inside the room. But today it was sunny.

Gah, I do envy you guys from the Southern Hemisphere right now. I love the winter, and I love the cold. I'm always happiest when it's below freezing outside, and it takes a lot to ever get me uncomfortably cold without proper clothing (within a few degrees of freezing).

You wouldn't like it when it is below freezing inside. I have woken up and found ice on top of my blankets more than once, so figure out.

Heating is simply too expensive, and therefore uncommon here. There is a fireplace in the living room and that's all. Too far from my bedroom.

it stormed here today too, not too bad though just a thunderstorm. two weeks ago we had a huge storm, lightning hit a tree, set it on fire then the tree fell on a power line and then we didnt have power for a couple hours.

i live in central ny state and it can get up to 100 degrees F (it was 95 today) =) but then in the winter it can get down to -10. i love either one. but its not so fun skiing in -10 weather, snow blowing in your face and winds like a hurricane AND all you can wear is spandex top and bottom.

but its all worth it lol

Me too. I also really enjoy the weather just before storm came. Windy and chilly bit and you can hear the thunder in distance:thumbsup:

It's obviously moving east then, as we have just had that here in Hereford (I think we're only about 50 miles from you). Heavy rain, thunder, lightening, power dipping, cat hiding under the bed.... It seems to have cleared now though, and it's become really humid. :frowning2:

Yep, it's moving east. Apparently it's now reached the studios of Sunshine Radio in Worcestershire.

Well it's supposed to be summer here (though you wouldn't think so looking out the window). Schools have a summer holiday here from mid July to early September.

Yeah definitely. Though I live in the suburbs of LA, and here in Southern California, a few miles can result in a radical shift in climate. Downtown LA is pretty temperate, highs around 80 to 90 in the summer, and it's rare to see it dip below 40 degrees (fahrenheit of course). Though where I live, the climate differs quite a bit more between summer and winter. In middle of summer highs are usually over 100 degrees, and in the winter quite it often dips below freezing. Also, there's mountains everywhere here, so it's never a long drive to reach the snow.

Summer holidays (and the main school break) are at Christmas time here.

Given that it might be 40degreesC on Christmas Day - Christmas lunch in Australia is more likely to be fresh seafood and salad than Roast Turkey and veg.
