If I could, every language on Earth tbh because I love languages.

But what I actually do plan to learn: Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish (I "learned" in school but that didn't help much)

Latin. It's very interesting to see how it impacted other languages. But it would be hard to find people to talk to in Latin, so not really worth it.

French would nice to know too. Sadly French in the public school system here is terrible :frowning2:

Dutch or Norwegian, since I'm part Norwegian and Dutch, and I would be able to use it with a couple people.
I think German would be another cool language to learn, but there's no one around here who speaks it.

Mandarin Chinese: I actually plan on taking a course of basic Mandarin at university when/if I go. I enjoy a lot of Mandarin music so it just makes sense. Plus I would love to visit Taiwan and China.

Spanish, French Italian. Spanish is easier for me, personally, but French is a much more accessible language to me at the moment because I know quite a few people who speak French. I only know one person who speaks Italian, and Italian is spoken much less than the other two, so I don't know whether to actually start bothering with it. I'd love to be fluent in all three at some point, though.

Fictional languages, however, I would love to learn Dothraki if it ever became a widely spoken language.

Irish, because I'm part Irish and I plan on moving there one day. Even though Ireland as a whole actually speaks English, I'd like to learn it.
I'm also attempting to learn Mandarin Chinese but it's very, VERY slow going.

Not much Irish people know a lot of Irish, but most people will know "An bhuill cead agam dul go dtí an leithreas?" Which means "Can I go to the toilet?" Goddammit education.

I'd like to learn the language of cats, because I really want to know what they're thinking.

Yeah, I heard something like that, but hey, I'm no good at languages so might as well start with one I probably won't have to use much, right?
Haha, we had the same thing for high school French! I may not know a thing about budgets or the economy, but at least I can ask, in perfect French, if I may remove my jacket.

Latin, Greek, Icelandic, and Spanish I'd love to be fluent in. In terms if constructed or fictional languages, Nadsat for sure.

Would have loved to have learnt Punjabi to actually be able to communicate with half my family but my parents never bothered teaching me. I'm awful with languages though, could never pick up anything from the French/Spanish lessons I had.

I know some German and Spanish so I wouldnt mind becoming fluent in those languages. I am currently studying German on my own. I had huge problems with Spanish in school because of the freaking insanely hard tenses. So I don't know if I want to pick it up again because I thought it was so so so hard. But it would be cool to know, if only to look good on my resumé.

Sindarin (Tolkien's more "modern" Elvish) and Greek. The former because it is the most beautiful language I've ever seen written or heard spoken, and the latter also because it's beautiful, but because it's useful for learning English as well.

That's not considering I also want to learn Italian, Japanese, Russian, and probably a few others I'm forgetting. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

EDIT: ^^I see Mandarin up there, and after dabbling in Wing Chun and learning the names of the moves, I guess it's pretty cool too. Can't see myself becoming fluent in it though.

I'd like to learn Norwegian and/or German at some point. I used to take German classes but have since forgotten it because I had no one to speak it to.

In all honestly, I looooove languages, I would learn them all if I could! But the languages that have always interested me are Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Tamil, Greek, Latin, and Hebrew. I love making constructed languages, I'ce created a few myself, I'm currently working on something called Gamarighai. I'm learning Esperanto at the moment.

Also, I can never decide if I should learn Chinese or Japanese first...

Don't let the fact that none speaks Latin stop you from learning it! Besides, you could read All those ancient curses in the original... XD

Latin, Greek, Arabic, Pali and other Prakrit languages. Oh and an African language. Maybe even Mandarin.

I love ancient languages. Latin, Sumerian, Akkadian, Hittite...those are the languages I would love to learn.

Besides, there are other geeks out there who've probably taught themselves those languages
