Pun intended. Anyone else noticed food segregation? You know when people say "Oh, you can't eat waffles for supper because that's a breakfast food." So... What are typical breakfast, lunch, and dinner food types in your country and do you follow these "dinner roles" or no?
Sometimes my family had traditional breakfast food for dinner as a special thing. Otherwise it was always pretty standard. Now that I live alone though I kind of just eat whatever whenever. Ice cream for breakfast, bacon for lunch and cereal for dinner? It's been known to happen.
I follow no laws of food. I consume whatever food I want at whatever time of the day. ...And by that, I mean I'm probably eating microwave ravioli.
Oh we've had eggs, bacon and taters for dinner so we really don't follow any dinner rules/roles/customs
I don't really believe in special foods for special times. Not like I'll break out a five-course meal for breakfast, but yeah I've got no particular limits.
Things like waffles and pancakes are definitely not breakfast foods here. I think the only time I ever eat pancakes is on Shrove Tuesday (otherwise known as Pancake Day). I see waffles as more of a dessert food - I like them with Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream. I'll eat whatever food I want at whatever time of day I want.
If anything, we should be having the foods we have for dinner for breakfast, as we should be eating bigger, more filling foods in the morning to give us energy, a decent sized lunch ,and finally a smaller dinner, but for most people, their largest meal is dinner, which isn't really the best. Also, Pizza for breakfast is just a piece of art as it is
I absolutely love breakfast foods, but I can't often get myself to eat until I'very been up for several hours. Omelets are a lunch thing. Pancakes and sausages are a supper. Sweets like pastries and cereals are snacks. Bacon is good anytime!
I generally don't eat pizza or hamburger or tacos or pasta dinner-y type foods in the morning. I know fried steaks usually are common in early morning diners but I just can't do it. Way I was raised I guess.
We have something called "tiffin" which means breakfast/snack foods in the morning and sometimes at night for dinner. That's because they are somewhat lighter on the stomach when compared to our regular daytime meals (Lunch) which usually include Rice and/or Wheat Bread (Roti) with curry/pulses/vegetable stew. So while eating rice or wheat bread is standard for lunch, our choices for breakfast and dinner vary. There were days where I had things like soup or salad for breakfast or dinner.
It's kind of funny. You'll see people eat pancakes or French toast for lunch or dinner but you never see people eating spaghetti or roast beef for breakfast. Oh and I love chicken and waffles for dinner
I have totally eaten both spaghetti and roast beef for breakfast. Like, often, actually with the spaghetti.
Nope, if I'm hungry for it, I'm going to eat it. I just ate a bowl of cereal like a couple of hours ago. For some reason breakfast tastes better at night.
