Hi, I'm looking for any help regarding promoting a theatre production amongst the LGBT community. My sister is part of an amateur theatre group that is performing "Bad Girls the Musical" and besides the usual target audience I suggested they should promote it amongst the LGBT community but don't really know where to start. Any advice or experience would be great. Even if you don't have experience, it would be good to know what would appeal to you, how would you like it to be promoted if aimed towards you etc?
I would probably want to choose to sign up to a theater mailing list, and have them mail oncoming theater productions. I wouldn't want to be pestered from door-to-door marketing or spam. You could find some LGBT websites and ask them if they'd want to see an LGBT [I'm assuming it's LGBT if you're specifically wanting to market it to them] theater production. Then go on with the details if someone wants to know.
