https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi_tGaGyyM8 Sigh. I saw this while opening up google this morning, and when I clicked, I noticed that the dislike bar was way bigger than the like bar. And that the comments section was full of hurtful and hateful comments. It's things like these that just make me wonder if it really can get better. How is it 2016 and we're still struggling with so many people being against equality? Sorry, it just put a damper on my mood I guess. I just don't understand. Can anyone give me a decent reason why it's okay to "disagree" with the "homosexual lifestyle"? When you're constantly being told by society and people around you that your unchangeable completely natural feeling of love is wrong and that they oppose it, it really just beats you down. What a nice way to make someone feel like they're welcome and accepted into the world for just being a normal human being. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they feel upset that they're being constantly bombarded with LGBT propaganda and such. Maybe it has gone a bit overboard and is causing them to resent the LGBT plight? I saw a lot of people mentioning political correctness and such. But at the same time, I do feel like these things HAVE to be addressed. This raises a question. How much is TOO much?
There's no such thing as "too much". People like that are disgusting, how do they think we feel having the heterosexual lifestyle shoved in our faces, having it embedded into us from birth so deep that some people end up with internalised homophobia? How dare they criticise us for even holding hands in public when I know heterosexual couples who make out in the middle of schools? There is no good reason for it. Homophobes mean nothing. Here's an idea: let's all go and like the video and rub it in their sickening faces.
If people don't want to watch the video they don't have to watch it. I hate how people think there is some sort of LGBT 'agenda'. All we want is equality. The UN are the biggest hypocrites ever though, even if I support this cause.
I agree with the concept that people should just love one another unconditionally but so often religion steps in front of it. All these right-wing, "Christian" maniacs that are like "Waaah! The Obama administration won't let us discriminate!" makes me sick. Of course we end up demonizing them! They're the ones spreading hate for no good reason. I mean just look at racism and segregation in the old south. Even the KKK thought they were in the right because they interpreted the bible as saying Anglo-Saxons are better. I apologize if this comes across as me hating all Christians. I know there's good ones out there.
This world sucks. At times. Like, a lot of the time. That's the closesr thing to an objective reality I've ever believed in. It sucks for homosexual people as well as for homophobes, for trans people as well as for transphobes, for black people as well as for racists, etc. etc. After vacating their childlike innocent state, people will seek to dump their accumulating frustration and bitterness somewhere. That's why I've unfortunately developed into a misanthrope over the years, albeit quite a mild one. I do have faith in humanity, as in the potential to do great things together, but I'm extremely harsh when it comes to people as individuals.
I'm shocked at how many dislikes there are on that video, and how many mean and hurtful comments people left. It's really disheartening. I loved the video.
This is such a beautiful video. People are just too resistant to change. They need to get over it! Its legalized in my country! We can get get married when we want to. Its not gonna change either. I just don't get what people be thinking..
While I would prefer some Helloween or something, for once I find this song fairly alright even though it's just commercialist pop crap.
I live the video becuase it shows messages of solidarity from people all around the world both in fortunate countries and countries where being lgbt is actually dangerous. I find th internationalism really interesting and its a great thing to see. So I watched the whole thing. But the song really was putting me off. Not because I think they should have used something outside of mainstream commercial pop but just because the song is annoying, unorginal and a huge annoying cliché that is simply amplified by using it on a video campaigning for equality.
