I'm intrigued to know what different things you do/read/watch/think/listen to, etc to help yourself feel better - whether that be making you feel more valid in your identity or just taking your mind off a bad week Please feel free to reply with your experiences..
Well I can't speak for every day, but today I decided to sit down and play Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom for a few hours. And it was fun AF, and I had a smile on my face for the whole time. So I guess, just doing fun kid stuff makes me feel happier with everything in general. It really felt like time well spent.
Sometimes singing and dancing helps; not in a footloose sort of way but once I was really upset I just went outside at like 1am and started dancing in my backyard. I noticed there was a lot of energy and emotion in every step I performed. I remember just looking at my shadow that was cast against my shed and thinking to myself "damn I'm awesome when I'm mad". Made me feel a lot better. Then there are times when hitting a bag has helped, praying, writing, and/or crying.
I just try to escape from reality by indulging in fiction usually with anime or manga or a book on space exploration
Watching comedy shows Watching videos of trans Youtubers Reading (novels, short stories, comics) Creative writing Playing music Listening to favourite songs Going out with friends (usually)
I like to listen to music and sing and play. Going outside helps to relax or inspire me. Thinking about future goals/dreams keeps me optimistic and focused. And having fun in general is helpful.
Reading, watching a movie or tv show, talking to people, or listening to music! Also, jogging. Jogging is gr8.
This might sound odd but I listen to generally sad music to make me want to cry to feel better about a bad day
