Is there anyone here who is left-handed? I myself am right handed, but I'm trying to write with my left hand... and tips?
Somewhere around 25% of gay people are left-handed (including me!) vs. about 10% of the population on the whole. There have been a number of threads about it here. I know some people that are dominant to left but have learned to write with the right hand and vice-versa... it just takes time and practice.
I am right handed but I play guitar left handed. So I'd imagine writing with your non dominant hand could be learned for sure. Like Chip said you just need to dedicate a lot of time to practice.
Wow! I never knew that. Maybe it is that high since there isn't as many gay people as straight people? ---------- Post added 26th May 2016 at 11:54 AM ---------- Honestly I would say lots and lots of practice is going to be required to even write ok with the opposite hand.
I'm a lefty! I've always liked being left-handed cause it's less common. When I was in Kindergarten, though, my teacher (who was a bit aged in her teaching methods) tried to make me right-handed. My parents quickly jumped in and had a word with her about that...
I've heard a lot of stories about that, that sucks. Good for your parents for stepping in and not letting your teacher make you be a righty!
Lefty here. As for your question I can't really help you, but may I ask why you would like to write with your left hand? I'm curious.
I guess I'm naturally left-handed. I do everything using my left hand as a default one. Unfortunately, my mother has been trying to force me to use my right hand, and my father couldn't react because he was working far from home at this time. The result is that I'm ambidextrous now.
My hubby is left handed and he doesn't mind it at all but a buddy of mine hated it so much she trained herself to be a righty!
I'm a lefty too I love it used to play on it at school although the teacher was evil so tried making my right handed so I rebelled and stayed a lefty... I'm the only one in my family (including relatives and cousins) that's a lefty and the only one that's gay too
I was ambidextrous till I fractured my left arm. I've now got into the habit of doing everything which i used to do with my left hand before, with my right. It's almost healed though so I should be able to go back to normal soon! For learning to write with the other hand, the only way is lots of practice. Try and get hold of those handwriting books for kids and do the exercises in those.
I'm weird, I'm mixed-handed. That means I do some stuff with my right, some with my left, and some with both. Because of that, my left eye being dominant, and being able to quickly learn how to do things with my left hand, I think I might have been born left-handed and something caused me to use my right hand.
I have always written left handed and thrown a ball the same. Same with using a fork or spoon eating. Always left handed. I threw the ball lefty but swung a bat righty, use scissors right, play guitar right, and most things right handed.
Sinistrality seems to be a little more common amongst us, though I only know one other bisexual who is also left handed. My other queer friends are right-hand dominant. Left-handedness feels normal, but it gets really inconvenient sometimes.
