ive seen it a few times, dont really like the movie version... (pretty boy phantom couldnt sing)

im not sure how many people know... but phantom is the story of webbers relationship with sarah brightman (she was the origional christine) he saw himself as her lover (they both loved the music), but she saw him as her teacher... and he loosing her to another guy,
its quite interesting to watch the play once you know about their relationship...

It came to Auckland last year and I went to see it.

It starred Anthony Warlow as The Phantom.
I lovedd Anothny Warlow before seeing Phantom but now I love him sooo much more.

This was the first play that I actually saw and I thought that it was totally awesome!! Later I saw the movie and it doesn't compare at all with play. Nothing beats the live music and the feeling of the large pipe organ shaking the seats.

I really liked it but most of my friends hate it but I can't see why. Some of the songs aren't amazing but the staging is AMAZING!

Definitely a must-see musical.
If you get the opportunity, read the book as well - many many fantastic bits of the story were left out of the musical ("Le Fantôme de l'Opéra" by Gaston Leroux)

I actually read the book too.
It was pretty good and it delved more into the story of the characters.
Nice book

I saw it on Broadway, and I have to say it is my personal favorite musical. I got a poster that was signed by the entire Broadway cast of it which I have hanging behind my bed
