I'm not really sure why, but I just felt like creating this thread so....

Personally, I'm left handed, yet my parents are both right handed. My sister is also left handed too. It's interesting it turned out this way really. I've heard studies linking different handedness from parent to child with stress- but since I'm no scientist, I don't know how much credibility such studies have. But if there's any truth to these studies- my mum must've been quite stressed both times, not that it'd blame her, I mean having kids must be quite stressful generally I'd imagine.

So...do you share the same dominant hand as you parent(s)? Do you know if you do or not? Do you have a dominant hand or are you more ambidextrous? Fun fact, ambidextrous is often used to describe people who naturally have no preference, whereas when someone is said to be mixed-handed usually has a dominant hand but learned to use the other with practice or say they lost their hand and had to learn to write with the other.

    And...let's go! :eusa_danc

I use both of my hands because they're both equally strong and able to do things, but when writing I do favor my right only because I was never taught to write with my left- actually, I was punished for it when I did that. Most of the time though, for a lot of other things, I'll favor my left hand, like for opening doors and brushing my hair.

My parents, as far as I know, are both right-handed, though my dad sometimes uses his left, so maybe I got it from him? My sister is both-handed just like me.

Parents (sperm donor and mom) both right handed I think, like me. But with my siblings, it's weird. Each kid has an alternating handed-ness. Older brother- left handed. Me- right. (Now here keep in mind that my brother and I have a different sperm donor than my sisters- my dad's their biological father) Oldest-younger sister- left. Second oldest younger sister- right. Next sister- left. Youngest sister- right.

Well, in my family it looks a bit weird. My dad is ambidextrous (naturally left-handed, I guess, just learnt to use his both hands), and my mother, as one of the twins, is left-handed, too. I myself am ambidextrous just like my dad (use my left hand by default, though), yet my sister, having the same parents as me, is right-handed.
I can't explain this as well.

Everyone in my family seems to be right-handed (including me), it's fairly boring.

That said, I have seen evidence that the rate of left-handedness is higher in the LGBT community than among people in general.

Everyone in my family is right handed.

If this makes any sense though, I am less right handed than the others in my family. I use my right hand to write and use chopsticks, but outside of that, I don't have any preference for one hand over the other. It seems like my family members use their right hand consistently for everything, even to take a drink or pick something up, when I would just use whichever hand is closer.

I'm right handed, and so it's the rest of my family. Weird thing is, I have more strength in my left hand, which I noticed once I started working out. It doesn't make much sense.

In my family, everyone's right-handed except me (the ambidextrous one) and my grandfather (left-handed).
