The first time, nothing....The 2nd time it was already gone. The phone wouldn't stop vibrating. I heard it's best to take out the battery and wrap it in a towel until it dries.

I dropped mine in a glass of water. I took out the battery and left it out over night to dry and it worked the next day.

Yes take the battery out and let it sit for a couple of days.

If the phone still does not work it could be that some mineral deposits from the water have bridged a couple of pins on an IC leaving it in a weird state. The solution in this case is oddly enough more water. You take the phone apart and wash the circuit boards in distilled water. Of course you need someone handy with electronic repair to do this, as some of the phones are nearly impossible to take apart.

Put it in a bowl of dry rice, that can sometimes help mop up the water.

I haven't had to do it myself, but my sister has and said it worked really well. Give it a try, it can't hurt and it could help a lot.

As others said remove the battery and let it dry for a long time (like a couple days).

The more you can open it up, the better (removing battery cover, faceplates, etc)

My brother dropped his phone in the sea and he first took it apart, rinsing it with fresh water, and let it dry. The phone worked but unfortunately the battery was fried.

Question-Did you try powering up the phone right away?

If you did, you're hosed because you fried the phone.

If you ever do drop a phone into water, you have to let it dry for a couple of days before you even TRY powering it up again. Otherwise, you'll fry it. Electricity and water mix far too well for electronics to handle.
