I just discovered the beauty of eBay... Somebody stop me before I sell my soul in exchange for a new couch.
Wait, hold on... You're just now discovering ebay? Seriously, though, it's easy to get addicted, but try to keep everything in context. If you're about to buy something impulsively (as I'm so wont to do), stop to ask yourself how much you want or need that item, and more importantly, how much you'll ACTUALLY use it. Then, consider what else you could use that money to buy. Once you stop and think for a moment, many ebay items become less appealing... Enjoy!
Yes - It can be really addictive! And I wasn't bothering with the little things - I was bidding (half seriously) on CARS! I just find it fascinating how there is just about everything you can imagine for sale there! Oh - and its the shipping that will usually kill you! Always ask for a quote!
hehe - I had always ignored it until a couple of months ago. Have bid on a couple of things (but not got them - hey, no big deal). I'm actually surprisingly sensible, and only look there if I really want something.
You need to check the cost of whatever you are interest in at other suppliers before bidding. Consider the total price including postage and any taxes. Also consider the warranty - people often sell "new" items on eBay with only a 30 day warranty then expect you to deal with the manufacturer. Also check the seller's feedback - not just the score but also things they have sold previously. If all the previous feedback is for small cheap things and they are suddenly selling something very expensive, be wary. Also be wary of people that do not accept PayPal.
I Love ebay! I have a crapload of video games and clothes from them...at present I'm searching for a first edition TMNT comic and a Measure of a Man Singapore edition...
I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD... not so unusual when I don't have money to pay the bills... But if I had money, I would spend fortunes on eBay...
I wish I could tell him why My dad loves eBay...Tho I think he is a great at buying stuff so my mum allowing him to buy for now. I know that he is planning to buy a new golf club set secretly. It will be interesting to see if my mum finds out about it:lol:
o-m-g, ebay ruined my life! I got a credit card...I put my card number on paypal...and then i went on ebay pressing the PAY button every 2 seconds until i maxed out my credit card, 4 TIMES! ... 2000$ in debt! Life ruiner.
