As a religiously questioning person, of no particular persuasion, though perhaps more pagan than not, the question came up among friends: What kind of God would allow so much suffering? I once heard suffering'evil was the absence of God in a persons heart. I kinda like it that way, it means to end all "evil" you should help others find the love of God. Whilst this is completely subjective (What is "evil") I still find it better than severely harming someone, or worse.
