Default Showering in schools

This should be a simple question: were you ever required to take a shower during school? As in after a sports event, during PE, for any reason, anything? Was it solo, behind closed doors, what? I'm not looking for embarrassing erection stories, just answers.

I don't think my year 7-10 campus even had showers. We'd change for sport in classrooms during recess or lunch break, and back afterwards.

yeah, we were never made to shower, but I mean, you could if you want to. Especially during overnight events in school, when you had to sleep over.

haha, never did try tho, and prolly never will -- tooo shy

My school would do an annual "lock-in," where there'd be all sorts of games and food and stuff to do, and you stayed at the school overnight. It allegedly was a lot of fun, but I never liked high school or most of the people I went there with enough to want to be in the school all night.

As for the actual poll, yep, starting in 6th grade until my freshman year of high school, we had to take Phys Ed and shower afterwards. They were the common locker room showers, too, so no privacy of any kind, just a bunch of shower heads coming out of the wall.

yeah, haha. Just like what xequar said; we were all 'highly' encouraged to take a shower, but since we can go home first then go back to school, I'd usually just take a shower at home first >.<

i went to boarding school, so whether we were forced to take showers or not we did (three months is a long time not to shower and wait til you get home). they were pretty nice with a separate changing cubicle as well. but now i play sports in college and we have the "gang bang" showers. yuk.

we had showers at my middle & high schools, but barely anyone ever took them after gym. the guys' shower was just an open room, but the girls had individual stalls.

We had showers, and we were "encouraged" to use them. I didn't. I just was astute enough to take gym as the last class of the day.

In high school and junior high they made us shower after swimming. It was a group shower, but we just wore our swimsuints. No big deal.

There were showers in my middle school and my high school has them as well, but they are never used. We are actually encouraged not to, because we only have five minutes to get changed and get to our next class..

Even with sporting events at the school, people always just go home to shower afterward.

same here. though, at our school, we have a 30 min period before school every day but friday where the teachers have to be in their classrooms and the kids can go (or not) to ask the teacher questions or get extra help, we call them tutorials. All our morning sport and band practises have to be done before that so the kids can make use of that time. Because of this, some people shower during that 30 min.

I never had to. To my knowledge, it wasn't even "encouraged." The showers were there, and if you wanted to use them you could. We had the open type, with the spouts on a column. I'm not sure about the girls' side.

The showers in my school are out of order whilst they redo the gym hall. We never use them anyway.

In junior high I never had to and PE was required, but in high school you were required to shower after PE, but I never took PE in high school, always got around it by taking 7 or 8 classes and at my high school you had to have a study hall.
