I have blue hair and people think I'm into anime. I'm not. I just like the color blue. Shouldn't people assume I'm queer or a punk instead? I also have a slightly Asian looking face. Could that make people think I like anime?
Probably because it's so common. In the early 2000s, it was probably associated with nu metal or goth. No idea queer = dyed hair.
Probably 'cause a lot of anime girls have colorful hair and blue is pretty common (from what I'e seen although I could be mistaken as I don't often watch anime).
