Well, I was born the opposite gender  but that being said, have no idea what my mom would've named me if I got to be raised as a male. She doesn't remember. But she did want me to consider changing my name to Benjamin when I did transition.

Mom nearly named me Cat, (after Cat Stevens) and she named my sister summer. So I'm sure it would have been some weird hippy type name like that.

My mom has told me all the names she did NOT want to call me, but I don't think I've heard of any of the potential female names or what male name I got if I didn't get my name.

My mom did say though that my grandma was trying to pressure my mom into naming me (had I been born female) her (grandmas) name and and then having the other grandmas name as my middle name. The names would have clashed sooooo bad

I asked my parents many times what they would've named me if I were born male, every time they've always said, they never had a male name picked out for me.

If I'd have been identified as male at birth I'd have been Ryan or Michael. One of those is the name my parent's picked for me, one is my sister's, but I can't remember which!

Fun fact though, my name actually got changed about an hour or two after I was born! Originally I was "Bethany Dawn", since we were sure that I would be my mother's only child and the whole family wanted to name my after her. But she took one look at me and changed it!

My parents pick names at the last minute, though knowing the child's imposed gender at first availability, so a male name was never chosen for me. And since they want nothing to do with my transition, obviously they were not involved in picking my new name.

So I chose it myself and just told them of my decision: Alec. Later I chose Yosef as my middle name. Thus Alec Yosef.

I don't know but if I was a female I would like to be named Jean. Like from the X-Men.

Matteo. I'm glad that didn't happen because I already had three Matteos in my grade in elementary school. Also that was my mom's back up name for my sisters as well so I'm wondering what my name would have been if I was born male and if one of my sisters was as well.

My mom once mentioned to me that she would've chosen the name Alexander had I been assigned male at birth. I'm glad I wasn't named that, though; by no means is it a bad name, but it seems too... generic for my taste.

If I had been born a boy, my mom wanted to name me either David or Nathan or Nathaniel. She likes N-names, and I have an N-name myself haha..but it's different, since I happened to turn our female lol.

My mom would have named me Pierre-Luc. I hate composed names so I didn't pick it. However, I put it in the ''other names'' section of my new birth certificate.

I find it special that you guys see Alexis as a female name while here it's exclusively for males :|

My parents said they had decided on the name Alice if I had been a girl. In fact, when they found out they were having twins, they imagined a boy and girl twin being named Scott and Alice. It's interesting then, that my brother is named Scott, so it's as if they expected me to be a girl specifically. That would explain a lot... :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I wondered this for a while and asked my mom once. She said she never thought about girl names because she really wanted sons. It worked out for her because she got my brother and I.
