Can't really speak too much for the WiiU as I don't own one (I do want one though), but I'm not really a fan of the Xbox One. I pretty much put mine away the moment I got my PS4. But, aside from the system itself, I think it has a better game lineup than the WiiU. Plus, I'm pretty sure Nintendo is going to release a new console soon, so maybe wait for that?
It depends. Generally, an Xbox1 will have a really wide variety of games, but a WiiU will give access to all the awesome titles Nintendo doesn't want to port out to other consoles.
XBOX One is much superior. It is more powerful and also has many more (and higher quality) game options. Better graphics, stronger system, more options... From what I could tell, the Wii U was sort of a critical flop novelty idea. Nintendo doesn't have a lot of good games either, for their consoles, aside from the obvious choices of Zelda or Mario. So unless you are really sold on the pseudo-portability of it and the sparse classic series installments, I wouldn't recommend.
I thought Splatoon looked cool, but its the only Wii game I was interested in. I have a Xbox One, and except for Fallout 4, I don't have any of the popular games.
If you want Nintendo exclusives you'll have to get the Wii U. However it's approaching the end of its 'life' so it might be better to wait for the next console. I have a Wii U and I like it though. Imo skip the xbox1 and get the PS4, it's the better deal, sorry Microsoft fans.:icon_wink
