A friend of mine is under the impression that any guy who likes the color pink must be gay and that straight guys can't even have anything that just happens to be pink. I, personally think he's wrong, though I don't know any straight guys who like the color pink (or at least admit to liking the color pink). What does everyone else think and does anyone know a straight guy who likes pink?

Um, straight guys can like pink. Up until relatively recently, pink was considered a very masculine color. And anyway, sexual orientation and color preferences have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Absolutely, people of all orientations and genders can love any colour without it being indicative of a particular sexuality. There does seem to be some societal bias against men liking pink as it's a 'feminine' colour and thus according to them he is definitely gay. It's rather pathetic if I'm being honest since girls can like blue without anyone questioning her sexuality.

Also before one of the wars, girls used to embrace blue and boys used to like pink. It's reversed for some reason.

Your favorite color is not defined by your sexual orientation, they have absolutely nothing to do with each other ! (In fact, one's orientation is not supposed to influence their personal likes or anything like that)
Personally I do know a straight guy who likes pink, he's very embarassed about that tho, and maybe oneof your friends is, too, who knows )
also "pink ranger" is pretty ironic for this situation hAH

That's as silly as saying cross dressing males have to be gay. Liking a certain hobby like knitting or a "feminine" color doesn't equate to being sexually interested in the same gender. Even if that were the case what does it matter? It's so trivial to give someone grief just for being linked to a societal taboo that is consenting and doesn't harm anyone.

This too but most people don't know that.

Can girls like blue? Of course. Colors are colors, not an orientation.

Of course they can... and do. The colour pink is associated with the LGBT community, in different ways, but we don't own it.

Straight guys can like pink, but to be fair at the same time they can also say "Ewww. Pink. Not for me. I'm a straight guy."

My dads favourite colour has always been pink, but I also think he's probably bi. But yes of course straight guys can like pink, colours can't dictate someone's sexuality.

    Yes.

    My dad wears pink.

I have several pink polos and oxfords, shorts, and even some salmon-colored pants. But, I am gay.

Yep. I know lots of guys that have pink shirts and wear pink. We even have a pink shirt day in Canada (at school) to support anti-bullying because of a boy that was bullied in a school in Nova Scotia for wearing pink (a couple of other students at the school saw and informed everyone in the school but the bullies to where pink the next day or week or something in support of the kid). That doesn't make any of them gay.

Absolutely. In fact, the whole idea that pink is a "girly colour" is an absurd notion that was started in the mid-1900s United States for advertising campaigns.

Colours do not have genders. People need to detach their minds from such a draconian ideal.
