And I ran around the school yelling "I HAVE A GAY STICKER!!!!!" because they were giving out rainbow pride stickers. Anyone else have GSA's at their school? What do y'all do at it?
Oh man I want a rainbow sticker! No my school doesn't have a GSA. I wish we did but I may be too busy for it this year anyways depending on my teachers and how much homework they give and how much I procrastinate on it (plus dance and whenever I end up doing my volunteer hours).
When I was in high school there was a GSA, but it was just a very small group of students. At the time I didn't fully realize I was gay, but from what I heard, the GSA was just kind of an informal hang out session. It might be different in other schools, but I went to a small, rural high school.
Went to my first ever GSA meeting yesterday. I was really shy and hardly talked but I still enjoyed it.
I had one in high school, but I was not at all ready at that point to join anything like that. I go to a Christian college now and live in a red state, so I highly doubt we have one... but that would be so cool... I'd join nowadays, even if I'm with a man.
My high school had one but it wasn't that well known. Most of the clubs in my old high school were small and unknown for that matter.
My school doesn't have a GSA or anything like that. It's part of this Active Schools thing that means (pretty much) all our clubs have to be sport. Gay cricket anyone?
My college has a GSA. I'd like to join, but I'm putting off going to any meetings until a bit into the semester, so I can see how busy I am before I add anything else to my plate.
At the school I went to they tried to start one but it got shot down because they said it would be too easy for gay bashers to hang out at the meetings and find potential targets.
The funny thing is, last year, before I was out to anyone, not even myself, I was a huge LGBT rights supporter, but I didn't joint he GSA. "Oh no, what if they think I'm gay" was my initial thought.
Nope, I go to a pretty small school and there hasn't been a GSA there ever as far as I know. Based on how my school has treated things like this I'm sure the idea to make one would be met with resistance, and most of the people who joined would be bullied.
My school has a GSA. It's pretty cool, and is pretty much an informal hang out session with about ten students like Lambeau mentioned.
Fuck off, rich boy. I live in England, so no school has a GSA. I guess the closest thing is the student council, which I joined on a whim, where basically all the sad and lonley kids congregate and eat biscuits. It's fun, actually. ---------- Post added 26th Aug 2016 at 11:32 PM ---------- My school has clubs other than sports clubs. We have a load of music clubs of which I'm in three, a tabletop gaming club... Umm... And after that I'm blank.
