So a little over 2 years ago I posted here about a cure/treatment being found for the type of CF my niece has. Well while they still have not been able to bring it to market, this past June my niece did get the liver transplant we have been waiting almost 3 years for. In fact she received it on her birthday, though it was put in the next morning :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So... this is a big step

We are not yet out of the woods, but they were saying she may have been down to as low as 6 months left without the liver. Since getting the transplant she must have gained 15-20 pounds, which for a 89 pound 15 year old, is a lot.

Anyways, just thought I would share. (!)(!)

I don't know the details of your original post but I wanted to say I'm glad your niece got that transplant and is doing better. Does CF stand for Cystic Fibrosis? If so I think I read something about a cure a year ago. Some kind of gene therapy, I don't know if that's what your referring to.

Its wonderful news, I hope when the treatment is out your niece can recover completely! I wish her the best:slight_smile:

Not sure about the content of your earlier post, but congratulations on her liver transplant! Wishing her all the best on the road to recovery.
