I felt this fit since right now I'm currently dealing with a lot of them, and wondered some ways to help keep myself relaxed :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So how do you deal with your nerves?

Drinking tea, light incense, listening to music, bubble bath, keep my mind busy. Focusing on you nerves makes it worse.

Lately I've been playing the violin. I played in high school and now I'm picking it up again. It really helps me deal with emotion and anxiety somehow.

Like Patrick said, music is a great nerve soother. I sing all the time. Once you get into it it really helps take your mind to another place. And you don't have to be a great singer either. :icon_wink Or just plug in your headphones and blast away your favorite songs. Any form of music is therapeutic.

If you like to read, books are (obviously great) but comics/manga/graphic novels can be a great way to unwind because they do not require a great deal of intellectual focus, and provide pictures which get your attention in another way.

I've tried about all the other ideas as well, and they help. However, if your anxiety worsens and sticks around for a long time (like everyday...constantly), you may need to seek some professional help. This kind of thing snowballs fast if you don't put brakes on it quickly. Just something from the perspective of someone who deals with chronic high level anxiety!

    Best of Luck,

If I am actively freaking out, then my first goal is to regain control of myself. Inhale after four seconds and then exhale after another four seconds. Rinse and repeat

Anxiety and excitement are similar, so sometimes I can turn terror into fun

Arm myself with knowledge about the problem(s)

Exercise. "A sound mind is in a sound body" or however the saying goes

Focus on one task at a time. Chip away at the problem every day. Remember the law of diminishing returns. I think it's also important to set aside some time to chill every day if possible

Some people find meditation helpful. Your mileage may vary. It's never worked for me. I'd literally be more relaxed on a roller coaster

My pride makes it difficult to ask for help. However, a medical professional said it's always a fight with me. We didn't argue a lot. He meant that I see every problem as a challenge to overcome

I draw, I write, and I listen to or compose music. Engaging in sports also helps in the long run, especially fencing and other martial arts.

Listening to music is a good thing for me, especially if I sing along. I also tend to meditate.

I draw cats and build cities/space pirate frigates with digital software, maybe play a few relaxing games.

My whole "hit the wall until the problem goes away" thing from when I was little didn't exactly work, needless to say.

Also avoiding the news for a little bit if it's bad enough. People are crazy.

I listen to music. One song that helps me calm down is "Moonlight" by Rameses B.
