Random Native Words

    So, this is just a way to try and learn, and have other people learn about some native american languages. Basically, what you do is write the name of the tribe/nation and language group, and then right one word from that language and it's meaning. You can only post one word each day. If you don't know any native American words, just write the name of the language/tribe that you want to learn about. Remember, only one per day. If you have a suggestion for a non-native American language to do this with, post it on my wall, and I will take care of it.

    What is a proper greeting "hello" for native peoples that lived in SE Minnesota? The Dakota peoples?

    I am 1/4 native American from the Choctaw Tribe,,even have my card that certifies the "degree of indian blood" the only word I know is "halito" which means hello My grandmother on my dad's side was full blood and could say a lot,,shoulda paid more attention lol
