I'm about to start working on another costume, and I'm planning on doing The Comedian from Watchmen. On his suit, he has these big knee pads, and I can't figure out to make them. I can't modify an existing set of knee pads because I can't find any square ones and I want to remain as close to the suit shown in the book. I also can't think of a way to make the pads. I want them to be sturdy, and hold up to normal wear and tear. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions? (I attached a picture of the pads. It's bad, but it's the best one I could find.)
Cardboard, maybe? Hey, can you let me know what you figure out? I need to make a realistic suit of armor, and think whatever you make your knee pads out of will give me ideas.
