I've noticed that some people in the digital word and social media are constantly changing their avatars. I can understand the periodic change of an avatar. Changing it all the time seems a little strange. Only a little. I'm looking for input on why people do this a lot and if it's a creative thing or something else.
on websites like facebook, I hardly ever change it but on here, I usually change it just based on whatever video game I'm playing at the time. I feel like a lot of people change it often because to certain people, in order for their avatar to feel current, they may only use it for a week or two before they feel like it's time to change it up but for others, they can have the same avatar for months or even years and have it still feel current to them.
I think I know one person who said they changed their avatar because they were insecure with the looks...they needed reassurance about their attractiveness all the time. I'm too lazy for that
This is funny, I've been wondering about it too for a while. To me it's a bit confusing. I am so used to see avatars first and only then notice the names. The changing avatars always confuse me at first
I change it once in a while, but I avoid doing it too much because I think the avatar creates a certain identity.
I change mine until I find one I think expresses me best. I also draw in my free time so I usually end up making something I like and using that. I generally do that on facebook and i'll probably do that on here
I can see this with some people and that's what I think it is. Interesting responses! I never have ME in my avatars. Once I settle on one, I tend to stick with. I'm also lazy that way.
I normally change my avatar about once a month, that's because I'm into photography and change my avatar into pictures I made. I'm not doing it here, because I really like my avatar ^^ I have a thing for eyes. I tried to make the perfect eye-picture but it never worked, so I glad I have such an avatar now ^^
I change my avatar quite a lot, though recently I've been trying not to - and that's on all sites, not just this one.
After about a month to like three months, I get bored with my avatar. That goes for basically any website I'm on. I simply end up tired of it, and change it so I can have something new/interesting to look at.
