    Hey everyone, a topic that ran through my mind today. I actually tried it for the first time tonight. I was really nervous and self-concious walking in by myself, but I wanted a drink and all my friends were busy. So, I walked into the gay bar, grabbed a drink, and everything was fine. I didn't really talk to anyone (and luckily did not get creeped on), but it was nice to enjoy a drink and relax after a long day.

    Would you go to a bar alone?

    I have. Actually I did my first time in a gay bar--met a bunch of people that day, a few of which I'm still friends with almost 25 years later.

    Actually, I have been a couple of times by myself. The first time was to try going without a friend or a group of friends, and the second time was to improve on the first try. Not to feel so nervous. :slight_smile:

    Not at this point in my life, hell nah. Absolutely not. Not only because of me...not really having any reason to go into a bar, but because I have too much social anxiety to dare go into a social situation with no one but strangers around all by myself.

    ...Also I feel like if I were to go into an environment like that alone I would probably wanna be left alone. So I'd be better off staying home anyway.

    I did once. I much a prefer a more crowded bar, I feel conspicuous in a bar with too few people

    Jokes aside, bars are so freaking expensive, I'd rather drink alone at home. (That sounded pathetic)

    I just don't feel relaxed when I'm around people I don't know (which usually happens when you go to a bar alone).
    I did it once. I walked it, got something to drink, drank it and left. It was nothing I could enjoy.

    However, going with people I know, I would do it (maybe once a week, I'm not really a fan of going to places with a lot of people :wink: Strange me.)

    Yes. I have. When I moved to this side of town, I was not familiar with gay clubs and therefore, I decided to venture out on my own and in a matter of time..I made new acquaintances.

    I really wish I could do this because I know I can't meet girls when my straight friends are with me because they don't know I'm gay so.. But I'm soo shy and I don't have the courage to do it!

    I have. Even got free drinks out of the experience. Thank you friendly bar stranger, wherever you are...

    I'll admit though, I was meeting friends there. Either they were very late or I was 2 hours early.

    I did once to wait on a friend. I don't drink though, so unless I have a friend to talk to it's kind of pointless for me.
