Just been reading about people who are being disciplined for being sixty seconds late for work. Do you think that's fair?

How is your time keeping? How important is this issue to you? Would you wait for a date? If you are late, what's the excuse/s? Any other thoughts/opinions?

At my school (vocational) you're getting punished for being 10 seconds late

Oh wow, our college really doesn't care. Then again we have a massive campus, and quite often people have a long way to go to get from one lecture to another. So maybe that's why unless you're like 15 minutes late teachers really don't care.

When your 20 min late and you don't have a special reason, it is counted as an unexcused absence  like you were never there...

I always get so worried about being late that I turn up really early.

I feel like being a minute or two late is nothing bad at all. My professors are normally okay with somebody being a minute or two late as long as they enter silently and don't cause too much distraction. If you're getting towards being 10 minutes late or even later, most professors will either want a good explanation for why or just won't let you into class which I think is pretty alright.

I've not been late to work outside of one car problem. If I was constantly late for the bell... there would be a problem. Theoretically if a student walks in after the bell they are late by 1 second or one hour. That's loosely enforced.

    I am never late!

When I go to a place I haven't been before I tend to be there at least 30 minutes early and then I just walk around watching everything ^^

School/University is the same thing: If I wanted I could go in the train which would give me 5 minutes until the lesson would start (which usually is just about enough, since the university is close to the train station), but I tend to go in the train which is there 35 minutes early, so I don't have to stress in the morning xD

I am always early. I get nervous if there is a chance I will be too late, so I tend to leave too early

Late a lot, but for job interviews I am there early  For work I take my time and usually come in early also.

But then for social stuff I can run late because I plan wrong :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: not because I care less. It depends on the occasion

"Frequently" late may be a little generous for me.

i'm usually an early bird, with a job like mine, you never know what can happen. i'm rarely late, so I make it a habit to arrive early. If my date was late, it would have to be a good excuse, the most i'm willing to wait is 30 minutes to an hour. If i'm late, i blame it on the train lol. depending on the job, i hate it when people don't show up on time, or let me know ahead of time if they're late, it derails the whole gig by a margin.

I like to joke that I'm either exceptionally early, or exceptionally late- but never on time. Time keeping has never been one of my strong suits. Yeah, I would wait for a date- unless it got to a point where I thought they weren't coming. I would just hope that I had the right numerical date, I almost went to an art exhibition on the wrong (numerical) date once because I read the poster wrong. I'm not the only one in my family who does that though, my dad once brought us to the doctors three weeks early because he got the dates for the appointments wrong. :eusa_doh:

I'm usually overly early because I set out really early in fear of being late. If I am late however, my excuses are that I was really tired in the morning or I read the clock incorrectly, because that's usually the case. I really wish I had better time management skills. :eusa_doh:

I think I would be late more often if I lived on my own, and I tend to be in a rush in the mornings so I guess I'll put "Occasionally" but it really does depend on the occasion.

    No, that's just silly.

Um, not so good. I have never owned a watch, and the idea of time is almost annoying to me, like you're breaking up the smooth surface of reality into broken fragments. I've had trouble adjusting to set schedules, my whole life.

This reminds me: If I do get a watch, I've noticed ones are coming out based on very early designs, that just have an hour hand, so you have to approximate the minutes: that would be perfect for me, and probably an improvement for anyone who knows me!

If it is up to me, I am extremely punctual. However often I have to carpool with very tardy family members so get to places late very often.

Usually 5 to 15 minutes early

I don't know the full story about the people being 60 seconds late. They might well be working harder than employees fucking around all day on their cell phones!
