Default Your Ideal House/Apartment

I was just attempting to avoid doing my assignment and was looking at real estate websites when I came upon something close to what I dream to be my home. Basically, I love that it's in town, spacious, more than one bedroom etc.

This got me wondering to what each of you consider to be your dream home?

Mine would be:
  • In the Northern part of the the Adelaide CBD, right near the main mall
  • Has more than one bedroom (explained in a sec)
  • Large kitchen with an island or more than one bench
  • Large, spacious walls
  • Large balcony
  • Big, open design
  • Big windows
  • Obviously good heater/cooling
  • Walk in robe
  • HUGE main bedroom...enough to fit like two King beds hehe

The reason I want more than one bedroom is to fulfill my plan: Put down the deposit out of my own money, then rent out the other room to a uni student. This would cover part of the mortgage. Then, after the mortgage is paid/I'm earning enough to pay mortgage, I can kick them out and make it into a study/computer room/library

Now your turn

My idea of an ideal house would have a good sized room I could use as a den with all my computer stuff. The entire house connected by ETHERNET not wifi, A good "garage" type place to work on projects and store stuff, as well as a spot to keep the car out of the weather, and an indoor pool.

However that doesn't mesh very well with my financial ideals

I really want one of them big 60's mansions up in the Hollywood Hills, or an Art Deco apartment in Miami. Either that, or my family home in Scotland. But IF I built one, it'd have:

A Nice Garage, with access to the house easily
A BIG Kitchen
A Room for all my musical gubbins and such.
Nice Sized rooms. As long as I had a B&O Hi-fi, an Orange Amp for my guitar all my books my dream car (a Citroen DS) and Ben

That's me sorted.

Mine would be a detached house, plenty of land around it, superb views of the countryside plus...

* Nearest neighbours ideally out of earshot, and out of sight
* Big kitchen
* Large Wet-Room style bathroom - multi-head shower big enough for 2... at least ;-)
* Dedicated Home Cinema room
* Secluded outdoor hot tub (see distance from neighbours)
* Wired network to every room
* Full home automation system
* Full distributed AV system (i.e. so music/video can follow me from room to room)
* At least 20Mb broadband connection
* Large workshop/garage outbuilding

Of course, as a small cog in a very big machine, that's far and away beyond anything I can afford... my current place is a lot more modest...

Not sure what the inside would have but....

Just up from its own private beach (somewhere hot)
golden white sands palm trees an old pontoon (jetty) off the beach to deep enough water where there would be a 40ft sailing yacht, smaller boats just on sure
The build itself just a simple building and no other houses for miles around
A bit of heaven and the boat is there if being on land gets to be to much

Dreams!!

My dream house/apartment is rooming with my two best friends Paige and Andrew in San Fransisco (in the Castro), or just with Paige somewhere on the East Coast. I don't care about what it looks like at all, I just care about the location & the people in it

I had all kinds of grand ideas of the house I wanted to live in. I ended up with my parents house. Sadly both of my parents died wayyyy to young, I never even had the chance to come out to them. It's been several years since then, and I'm finally feeling better these days. Errr, sorry to post a not so happy reply to the original poster here, but there is no finer group of people I'd rather spill my guts to. I feel better just knowing someone else knows now

Well, if we're being crazy, I'd love a house like the one in The Sound of Music, complete with plenty of land, a lake view, tons of space, and a ballroom. Just because.

If we're being more practical (which is less fun), I want two stories, at least three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a breakfast nook, a patio, an in-ground pool, and at least one set of French doors.

Either an inner-city apartment

Or a massive mansion near the beach with

- 5+ bedrooms
- Pool
- Tennis court
- Massive bathrooms
- Big kitchen
- Library
- Gym
- Cinema room
- Cellar

I will get this house one day. Mark my words

My dream house is a beautiful log cabin,in the mountains.
I'd want a huge loft bedroom,the whole length of the house.
A spare bedroom. A wrap around porch. And,a field stone fire place.
2 bathrooms with a hot tub and a huge shower,in the main bathroom.
And,of course,lots of running space for my dog.
And,last but not least,no neighbors for 1 mile on either side!
oops,1 more thing,a game room with a 9 foot pool table.
I had better hit the lottery,too!

A small house on a large property in the middle of nowhere. There MUST be a hot tub. A greenhouse would be nice too.

I would like a house in the country with about 5 to 10 acres of land. With a 2500 sqft garage and them some bedrooms, kitchen, and living room.

A relatively nice Apartment, in London. I've always wanted to live in England.
Relatively close to public transport, so I could either take that or my Moped. <3 XD
One bedroom I suppose, nice spacious kitchen with an island, nice view of the city. Doesn't have to be huge...just not tiny. I'd be so happy :'D
