Hi everyone, I'm studying for a very important exam right now and was wondering if any of you have studying strategies that work for you that I could try, e.g do you study at night time, in the morning, at a library, etc...thanks !

I've heard studying first thing in the morning helps, or right before you go to bed. Also, reading out loud works great (I know from experience). hope it helps!!

As for where to study, anywhere that you both find relaxing and has very few, if any things to distract you. What I do to study is I tend to make my own quizzes over the materials i need to study, wait a few hours and possibly even go over the info a few times in between, and then take the made up quiz and whatever I don't end up remembering when taking my fake quiz, I make sure to spend extra time going over while still at least spending some time going over stuff I know pretty well just to be sure.

I study in libraries so that I ged ashamed if I'm not concentrated: everyone is studying, so I must not be lesser and study too.
About the method, I change it on every single exam. Sonethimes I study from the beginnig for the same exam just changing the method (and loose a lot of time, lol). But, anyway, usually I make summaries.

I suck at studying because I can't keep my concentration long enough to pound out one, long study session. So I always used to study for 15-30 minutes, then came back maybe an hour later and kept working. It worked for me when I had high-stakes tests. I've also heard studying before bed can increase the retention of what you've been reading, so that may help, too!

try listening to some music (preferably non-lyrical) that you like while you study, and then the same music right before the test.
Another thing that I find helps is chunking my time and ignoring every part of the assignment except the one I'm working on. It can be pretty overwhelming to look at a big project in it's entirety.

I have different things I'm doing (based on out different types of exams), so I'm just giving you all of my tips:

    • Make a study plan (remember to take breaks!)
    • write summaries about all the things you have learnt
    • Write small flashcards you can take with you
    • Write something about it (like a story)
    • Record the theory and listen to it like a podcast

    I think that's all ^^
    Good luck!
