No, it's never too late to come out. You can be 7 or 70; if you feel the time is right to come out, do it.

I saw a news story a couple months ago about a 90 year old man coming out as gay.

So the answer is, no. It is never to late to be yourself.

I am 52 and I only realised last year that I'm gay. I came out to one friend early this year and another two this week. xxx

 

The only time it would be too late to come out is after your death. Take it slow and only where you're comfortable. Tell the people you know you can trust or at least, gauge their reactions to the subject first if you're unsure.

Now I just imagine a dude's ghost rising from his body and seeing death waiting and then just going:
"....I'm gay."
"Congratulations. Now get in the fucking boat."
