It might burn, but its not okay. It's not made for Zippos, and its not good for you.

Scientifically speaking. Lighter fluid that you put in Zippo's is butane. It has 3 hydrocarbons. Clean burning - kind of.

Mineral spirits, is hexane. 6 hydrocarbons. You might as well put gas in your Zippo.

I was just researching that, Butane didn't make sense to me after I posted that. I don't have any problems admitting when I'm wrong

I've always used Zippo lighter fluid. So, I couldn't tell you if mineral spirits actually work, although I'd still be alittle concerned about what combusted chemicals you're breathing in.

    Yeah

Well I can't exactly buy lighter fluid
    Cause I'm only fifteen

They filled it up at the place I bought it at
But it'll probably need more before too long

And mineral spirits don't really have super strong fumes or anything, my mom uses em when she paints dolls, so they're pretty readily availible

Hmm. Well. I started smoking just when I was 16, just before I turned 17. And I bought the smokes myself from a variety store (no fake ID). There's always a way to get what you need ;P

There shouldn't be restrictions on buying lighter fluid. For all they know you're bbq'ing.

    Oh there are

If your under 18 your can't buy anything remotely related to smoking, cept maybe an ashtray

The chick that sold it to me basically did me a favor, cause she could like get a ticket for selling me a lighter and her little store could get like fined or something idk

Well, I tried checking it up on Google, the only thing that came up was Yahoo Answers. People seem to suggest mineral spirits if you're in a pinch.

I'm not sure about mineral spirits, but I can definitely say methylated spirits is a very big no-no. I tried that once and pretty much set my hand on fire. I know a lot of people use petrol (gas), so you could always try that.
