I typed earthquake into the news and got this - http://www.reuters.com/article/world...54338G20090504. Are you in Venezuela? Earthquakes don't travel that far. I'm in California and it shakes enough as it is.

I haven't felt one since I left California.

Back when I was in college, we had a fairly large one hit - the epicenter was only a couple miles away. And where was I? In the shower. Of all places to be. I stumbled out of the shower, slipped a bit on the floor, grabbed a towel to wrap around me, and stood in the doorway of the dorm bathroom, dripping wet. Across the hall from me was a flyer for an upcoming meeting of the Christian Student Group. In big bold letters, it proclaimed the subject of their next meeting:

HOW DO YOU THINK THE WORLD WILL END?

I thought, "Hopefully not with me naked and wet standing in a doorway."

^ Best Earthquake anecdote ever

One of my stupidest earthquakes was me up until about 1.30am on a school day just watching South Park, and my bed started shaking a little bit, and I thought it was my cat or something under my bed. It finished after about 10 seconds and I just went back to my South Park.

In Turkey we had some HORRIBLE quakes. Like, "shake the bed halfway across the room while you're still in it" kinda quakes

It's a really funny story now, but it wasn't that funny when it happened. And yes, it did happen. April 1990, I think.

My school was shaking today, but I live in the Northeastern USA, and it was probably the quarry about a mile away.

I know, right?
It happens so often here that I'm used to it.
