I just remembered an incident that occurred between me, my physics teacher and some

in my physics class and it set me wondering if anyone had any similar stories or whatever. It went something like this - I can't remember what the guy said at first that annoyed me though - it was a while ago.

asshat in my class: *some irritating backchat*
me: shut up [asshat]
him: you shut up, you're gay
teach: be quiet [asshat], *to me* are you really gay?
me: yeah..?
teach: well you shut up too, you AIDS spreader

me and my physics teacher normally get on well, and I *think* it was intended as a joke, but it really really pissed me off. I didn't do anything about it (what could I do?) but it got under my skin. Like a lot. So has anything like this happened to any of you guys and gals?

My Latin teacher is a major homophobe, and none of the other teachers I have do anything to stop anti-gay comments no matter what their personal opinions are. I only ever had one lesbian teacher with whom I formed a sort of friendship - she had had tough times in high school herself and helped prepare me for the bullying ahead, but then I moved on out of 8th grade and never saw her again.

believe it or not teachers have to follow a strict set of rules and laws. the fact that your teacher said that could have got him in serious trouble, joking or not.

as for anything teachers have said to me, my creative writing teacher was a cunt about a gay story i wrote. she said didnt have a problem with gay relationships(bullshit) but could i please keep it out of my writing.

That really needs to be reported, it's an incredibly douchey thing to say. If it was a while ago, though, it might be tough. Is there anyone who was there who'd be willing to confirm what was said?

What a terrible thing for that teacher to say. Kidding or not, the teacher is there to teach, and not make a stupid comment like that. There are probably just as many so called "straight" people that are infected with aids (and probably don't even know it) adding to the aids problem. That teacher needs to get a clue, and some sensitivity training. What a douche bag.

Did you report this to the principal or did you talk with someone else about these comments? If not, talk to someone at the school that you trust. The teacher had no right to make these comments (even if it was a joke). As a teacher he should know better. As others have said, you should report it.

the worst thing is that it may of been a joke. if you are able to come out to a group of people you dont know if any of them are gay or not and are able to say that it says so much about you. its scary teachers are like this

i agree with above what if someone was coming to terms with their sexuality in your class and they had to hear that i know if i was 15 confused scared that would shit me up

you have to report him as if he can say this what else can he say

and with some like that around as an authority figure asshat will never learn the error of his ways
